Conception and a Call for Vocal Cast

Conceptual art of "Jazzlyn."
Hello, there!

I'm Stefan D. Byerley, the series creator and chief director, with a quick word as to exactly what it is I'm doing with the budding action/thriller web series "Phyre Rusty Jazz".

The series follows the exploits of three female assassins, code names "Phyre," "Rusty," and "Jazzlyn," as they struggle to stay on top of the organized mafia gangs in a corrupted city. As they begin to become a formidable force in the city, Phyre has a chance meeting with her old childhood friend, Steve, who reignites old memories and inadvertently unbalances the close bonds of the assassins and places their very survival among the dangerous gangs at risk.

The series was originally imagined as a series of graphic novelettes that would be published on the web. It was a fool-proof plan, really. I would write and illustrate the entire thing myself, all for only the cost of a few pencils, paper, and whatever advertisement would cost.

Unfortunately, I am no cartoonist.

My real passion is film. My real talent is film. My very efficiency is in film. With lights, cameras, and actors, I could shoot one episode of adventure and character development after another more quickly than I could draw the images. Even storyboards are faster for me to process than the constantly changing frame sizes and shapes of the graphic novel conventions.

So I re-imagined the series into a 16-episode video series, still planning to publish it to the internet. I set out to assemble a small team of people to help me bring this vision to life. I brought George McDaniel onto the project, who shares my interests in film, television, and forms of foreign work including live-action and animated media, and Spencer Paustian as a producer, who has previous experience in communication arts with Compass Communications Studios Inc.

More should be surfacing about these people as we post updates on the project and better establish our presence on the internet. I'll try to post updates as often as I can, but most of my attention will be drawn to story-boarding and writing the teleplays with George.

We are currently seeking out voice talents to record place-holder dialogue for a teaser trailer to pitch to various investors and dedicated fans across the internet. We need four female voices, three adult and one child. Anyone interested in being considered for the temporary cast should contact either Spencer or myself. I can be reached at prjcrew.stefan@gmail.com.

Thank you for your interest in "Phyre Rusty Jazz". The next few weeks should be very exciting!
